В современной фотографии танец опирается не столько на движения, сколько на чувства и переживания, которые хочет донести фотограф. Мы можем заметить, как пластичны тела на фотографиях и как сложно сосредоточить на них внимание, что принуждает зрителя разбирать каждое движение, дабы танец сложился в общую картину и историю. На танцорах при этом находится одежда, которая подчеркивает форму тела или же она вовсе может отсутствовать, что также усиливает восприятие тела, независящего от висящей на нем ткани.
