Loneliness in the Global City

«Solitude in the Global City”—a series of collages dedicated to the experience of adapting after moving to a large metropolis. Despite the appeal of the new urban environment, a sense of longing inevitably immerses one in thoughts of personal loneliness and detachment from the familiar world, which leads to frustration.

The work utilizes a combination of pens, colored pencils, black gouache, and masking tape, along with module coursework. To convey a sense of internal emptiness and emotion, stencil and stamping techniques are employed. The elements of masking tape serve as accents, often acting as a kind of barrier between the external world and a person’s feelings.
