I’m Anastasya Degteva and this is my animation portfolio
: ^)I specialise in 2D frame by frame animation, and also experiment with stop motion and combining hand drawn characters with real life footage.
Why chose animation as a medium for your narrative?
1. Full creative freedom. In animation nothing exist until you draw it, nothing moves until you move it, no sounds are made until you paste them in. So everyone in the creation process can chose what and how they want the story to look, clearly convey the feelings you personally want your audience to feel.2. Labour of love. In an age where people get fed up with AI and lazy cashgrabs, almost everyone knows how long it takes to finish an animated project. And when you put in the time, passion and labour needed to produce an animation, you show how much you value your audience. And that’s how you build loyalty, by showing that you care.3. Fun! Animation is just fun to look at. Even an ad for cough medicine can look enticing if it’s animated.

«Life under cover»Authors:
Anastasya Degteva, Sofia Dorozhinskaya, Vika YrievaA Cucumber and a Tomato fall in love at first sight, but their roots are tigtly bound by the old Farmer. By miracle they end up pickeled in the same jar and now have to face a grim reality of living together in a small flat where tenderness quickly turns to chaos. Yet love persists and their reconciliation sparks an infectious passion all over the flat complex. Filled with desire for love, pickeled vegetables give in to the feelings, shattering the glass walls of a world build by someone else.2D frame by frame animation, stop motion, collage backgrounds.
This one is a star. Our Cucumber and Tomato has been visiting a ton of different animation festivals in Russia. From small indie fests to the sleek interiours of Moscow city. Soon our vegetable friends will be flying to London to visit LIAF 2026, wish them good luck!
Excluding directing and writing the script (because it was an involved effort from all 3 authors), my contribution to this project consisted of:
