«I work across visual research, editorial design and independent media. My practice begins with curiosity about how we perceive, interpret and document the world around us»
SOFT FOCUS IN PHOTOGRAPHY
Editorial design · Photography · Visual research

Between the real and the imagined.
Soft focus changes how we perceive familiar things. By blurring boundaries, photography can turn ordinary spaces and objects into something ambiguous, emotional and almost dreamlike.

The approachI explored soft focus as a way of shifting perception, looking at its connections to memory, déjà vu, dreams and the uncertainty of time and space. The research informed a two-part publication: a study booklet and a photographic album. The two formats connect theoretical observations with visual experimentation.
The outcomePrinted on translucent paper, the album layers photographs over one another, allowing new images to emerge through their overlap. The sequence moves fluidly between the figures of a woman, a mother, a child and nature.

BURELOM
Independent media · Editorial design · Print
Burелом is an independent media project created with Anastasia Bedina (sound-experiments, design) and Sofia Shirenkova (concept, research, interviewer), focused on experimental music and the ways people experience sound.
The project began with a question: what happens when we shift our attention from the artist’s intention to the listener’s perception?

The approachThe editorial concept is built around conversations with people attending experimental music events. Each month, the team explores how listeners interpret sounds that may exist only once and resist being reproduced. The audience becomes the main source of insight. Even musicians and organisers can participate as listeners, blurring the boundary between creating and experiencing.

The outcome
The editorial design gives conversations a clear structure while preserving the individual voices of participants. Each speaker has a dedicated column, and the layout follows the rhythm of the dialogue. For me, Burelom is also an exploration of print as a living medium: a space for experimentation, collaboration and ideas that deserve more than a passing scroll.
ROSETTA MISSION
Editorial design · Publication design · Science communication
The Rosetta mission was a European Space Agency project dedicated to studying comet 67P/Churyumov–Gerasimenko.
I approached this subject through the design of a publication that brings together two distinct layers: technical information about the mission and photographs from its archive.
The approachRather than separating scientific information from visual documentation, I brought them into direct interaction.Archival photographs are embedded within the text using text wrapping. Their presence disrupts the original flow of information, changing the shape of the text and the way the reader moves through the page.

The outcomeThe publication combines factual material with an image-led reading experience. Technical information and archival photography remain independent in content but interact through the layout. The result explores how editorial design can influence the perception of scientific information without reducing the complexity of its subject.
