The project explores the boundary between an excess and an absence of information in fashion photography. The two images are set against one another: the first is composed of numerous details, fragments, and visual noise that,
from a distance, come together as a unified tone and rhythm, yet require the viewer to move closer in order to be examined. The second, by contrast, exists as an almost dissolved fragment:
from a distance, the image can be perceived
as a whole, but as the viewer approaches, it loses definition and becomes little more than barely discernible outlines.
Studio photography traditionally implies
an intense focus on the model — light, equipment, detail, and control over every element
of the image. Here, this logic is pushed toward
its opposite: overexposure becomes a form
of the absence of information, while an excess
of detail becomes its loss. The project questions what makes an image valuable within fashion photography: the amount of information
it contains, its quality, its legibility, or simply
the sensation of its presence.
