REPLAY — Childhood With You

— The first module assignment in art practice was to design an original accessory that combines functionality and expressive design.— For my project, I chose to create a portable napkin holder that attaches to a phone, allowing me to always have napkins within reach. I wanted to reimagine a common everyday object, making it not only convenient but also visually compelling.

I became curious how a subject previously associated with sweets and carefree times could gain an entirely new function.

The inspiration for the accessory came from vibrant childhood imagery: the round pink packaging of Hubba Bubba gum and colorful buttons reminiscent of favorite toys and children’s clothing.

Inside the building, there is a roll of paper towels. When the side slider is lifted, the dispensing mechanism pushes the edge of the towel out. The user pulls out the towel and tears it off. A spring returns the slider to its original position.
