The project goal is to design a ring stand that merges jewelry storage with an expressive, organic form. The object must be perceived not only as a functional accessory but also as a standalone decorative piece.
Goal and Objectives of Design
The goal is to design an original ring stand where natural plasticity merges with jewelry storage function. Tasks include: studying the form and plasticity of sea urchins; reviewing existing solutions for ring storage; determining the character and proportions of the piece; testing the volume and placement of elements using a mockup; and planning the intended materials and manufacturing technology.
From Observation to Idea
The study of the diversity of sea urchin forms and behavior formed the basis of the object’s design. The round, central volume and the spines radiating in different directions captured attention. These features have been reinterpreted in the form of a ring stand.
